While PowerBI loads the data, it will display the dialog box shown in Figure 5-83.

Once the data is finished loading PowerBI will display a blank canvas with tools for visualizations and the fields from our SQL database. Click on the Slicer button first (Figure 5-84). This allows us to filter our data dynamically in the PowerBI report.

Then click on the field for Customer to assign it to the slicer. The slicer on the canvas shows the assignment. If you want there to be a “searchable” capability in the slicer, click on the ellipsis in the upper-right corner and select Search, as in Figures 5-85 and 5-86.
